Release Worry

With this stretch, we're going to identify a stressful thought or worry and try to release it.

So if you can find yourself in a comfortable seated position, maybe on the floor, maybe better on a chair, or you can do this standing if that feels better for you. And maybe you'll close the eyes if that feels okay. Settling for a moment. Resting the hands somewhere that feels comfortable. Letting your shoulders drop as loose as you can. And taking a moment to identify that stressful thought or worry that you might have about your surgery at the moment. And as we breathe in, I want you to think about that stress as you lift your shoulders up to your ears. As you breathe out, let those shoulders melt down and just visualise that worry melting away. So we'll inhale, shrug the shoulders up to the ears as much as you can, lifting them up. Exhaling, releasing and visualising that worry just melting a little further away. Inhaling to shrug, nice deep breath in through the nose. Exhaling, letting that shoulder drop and letting that stress melt a little further away. Keeping that going. Inhaling, feeling those lungs, feeling the belly, lifting the shoulders. Exhaling, gently melting the shoulders down. Two, inhaling to shrug. Exhale, release. One more, inhaling to shrug. Exhaling to release. Floating your eyes open.

You can use that stretch to let any stressful thought or worry just slowly melt away.
